At the Cliffsend and Pegwell by-election in Feruary 2020, our Green Party candidate Charlotte Barton came second, with 28.5% of the votes – our highest ever percentage result in Thanet.
The full results were:
- Marc Rattigan, Conservative, 516 votes (50.9%, +14.2% on 2019)
- Charlotte Barton, Green Party, 290 votes (28.5%, +10.4%)
- David Green, Labour, 109 votes (10.7%, -4.4%)
- Graham Birchall, Independent, 101 votes, (9.9%, -5.8%)
